Chỉ có ngày tết họ mới được nghỉ 1 ngày duy nhất cho cả 1 năm. Mỗi buổi chiều, Hằng, con gái chú Hiệp phải đi xe đò về SG hay các tỉnh xa để "thu mua" cá, thủy sản,..chẳng biết mấy giờ tối mới về đến nhà nhưng 4 giờ sáng là phải thức dậy để cân bán cho bạn hàng trước khi chợ nhóm, công việc nặng nhọc như thế cứ diễn ra 364 ngày một năm không ngừng nghỉ, những cái ao bên tay phải là nơi để thả lại những con cá xót lại bán cho ngày kế.
